I have been playing poker now for about five years, I have played cards my entire life starting with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various types of Brag and general random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so beautifully called, card on head casino game. I used to usually win, whatever game we were betting and although I liked to call it skill, it was really tough to justify considering the randomness of the games we were playing, so I was over joyed to accept I was having a protracted run of good fortune.

Then came Poker, or a lot more importantly Texas hold em Poker, made famous by a bunch of Texas card players in the 60’s and since developed into one of the biggest card phenomena ever witnessed. Poker is absolutely the new black, it is super cool with quite a few of the world’s top celebs racing to have their name connected with it. Just a quick flick through the TV channels these days and you’ll be able to not escape from poker, and of course there’s the fabled World Series of Poker, the Holy Grail and Mecca all combined into one for every single gambler.

So with all of this fresh discovered popularity, with so a lot of Tv shows dedicated to poker, and magazine and book shelves filled up with high quality material written by the leading minds on poker, when are people going to understand that this casino game is all about position!?

Perhaps I need to not obtain so worked up about this, after all the far more men and women who wrestle with the delicate tactics and strategies necessary for winning regularly at Hold em, the much better it is for everyone else, correct? I mean, if they can’t be troubled to read all of the offered facts about why position is so essential, why ought to we bother? We must just be happy there is one more fish at the table!

It’s true, we need to not encourage procrastination with guidance and aid. Nevertheless, I liken this to a helpful casino game of football. Naturally the stakes are not so good, except when you see a gambler struggling, you help them, provide them a number of advice, ultimately showing them a way to like, love and be grateful for the game as much as you. I’m asking all house gamblers to do the same thing with their poker friends who haven’t quite got a handle on the nuances of betting position. Support them to grow their respect for the game. Naturally, do not attempt to try this one in your nearby casino, the sharks won’t appreciate you instructing their lunch how to swim!
